Community Forum

The third Wednesday of each month is dedicated to a community forum. These are great opportunities for students, parents, guardians and community members to meet at the school and not only hear what is going on, but provide input of some of the happenings within our school community. The agendas will be published on our webpage and Facebook page in advance, so people can plan ahead of time.

September 19th is our first Community Forum of the year. The agenda will be discussing the safety response of the ALICE program. The forums will begin at 5:30 PM in the cafeteria.

If you have questions or can not make the forum, please contact Assistant Principal Luke Aither at laithshs@u61.net or Assistant Principal Jim Ferland at jferlshs@u61.net.

Wishes Are Medicine

Jamie Heath, SHS Class of 2019, is now a celebrated author and touring around Vermont and New York discussing her book, Wishes are Medicine.  The book documents Jamie’s experiences as she suffered a brain aneurysm as a student at Barre City Elementary School.  Jamie’s recovery included having her wish granted by Make-A-Wish Vermont and she chose to go to Hawaii to swim with the turtles.  On August 7th, a banquet was held to kick off Jamie’s book tour.  For more information about Jamie’s book you can check out the Make-A-Wish VT Webpage and Jamie's WCAX TV Interview
